BlogOn MOSI – 2013

21st July 2013 saw 70 bloggers from across the north of England congregate at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester for the first ever BlogOn conference. 

The conference was a huge success with all attendees giving positive feedback about the day. The event was also attended by 10 top brands including Kaleidoscope, Swizzels Matlow, Sodastream and Legoland Discovery centre. The brands all enjoyed having the chance to speak to some influential bloggers about how they can build long lasting relationships together and use bloggers as a new way of reaching their target audience.

The event incorporated four educational sessions including a very informative session on improving photographic composition. The attendees also helped to raise over £400 for Clic Sargent by taking part in a raffle and tombola.  Social Media played a huge part in the event with the Hashtag #BlogOnMOSI trending on twitter multiple times throughout the day.

“I was thrilled when Laura asked me to co-chair the Laws and Lies session at BlogOn and also very nervous as these are hotly debated topics within the blogging community. Laura stressed that this was not to be a lecture but delegate led in a round table format. That worried me at first but as soon as we started I realised it was a great way to do it. Each of the three sessions were very different. Even heated in places but the feedback has been incredibly positive. I wish Laura every success with BlogOn, it was superb and MOSI were fabulous hosts, showing us southerners ( I came up from Hampshire just for this) that not all blog conferences have to be in London.
